The Role: Senior Bunker Trader
Based in Dubai, you will hold direct revenue responsibility, focusing on originating and executing back-to-back marine fuel trading. As a senior member of the team, you will manage a high-value portfolio of shipowners and operators while navigating the complexities of the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and African trade flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Generation: Proactively grow a portfolio of shipowners, operators, and charterers to drive profitable, repeat business.
- Trading Execution: Manage the full lifecycle of physical bunker trades (HSFO, VLSFO, MGO), negotiating optimal pricing and contractual terms.
- Relationship Management: Build long-term partnerships with suppliers and customers, acting as a technical advisor on fuel grades and logistics.
- Risk & Compliance: Operate within strict credit limits and ensure total alignment with internal KYC, sanctions regulations, and compliance policies.
- Collaboration: Share cross-office market intelligence and contribute to strategic expansion projects, including alternative fuels and digital initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: A minimum of 6+ years of proven experience in bunker trading or physical oil products is required.
- Track Record: A demonstrated history of P&L responsibility and successful portfolio growth.
- Network: An established industry professional with a strong, active network of maritime counterparties.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Economics, or Finance is preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation and analytical capabilities, with the resilience to thrive in volatile market conditions.
- Languages: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Arabic, Russian, or Hindi/Urdu is considered a significant advantage for the Dubai desk.
