The Role: Marine Commercial Manager – London, UK
Based in London with a hybrid office/remote working structure, the Marine Commercial Manager plays a vital role in supporting the performance, growth, and strategic direction of the global Marine Trading, Origination, and Marketing business.
The role focuses on bringing people together, creating clarity, and advancing key business priorities. Working alongside the Global Head of Marine and regional collaborators, the successful candidate will provide critical insights, amplify business performance reporting, and strengthen performance monitoring across global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Business Development: Help shape business priorities, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to business transformation and growth initiatives.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting: Amplify business performance reporting and commercial analysis to identify market trends, operational opportunities, and areas for continuous improvement.
- Process & Digital Optimization: Support the Marine digital agenda, identify opportunities to simplify processes, and enhance ways of working across regions and functions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external collaborators, build collaborative cross-functional relationships, and support capability building across the Marine organization.
- Commercial Alignment: Partner closely with commercial and analytics teams to strengthen performance monitoring, support deal valuation, and enhance business planning activities.
Candidate Profile
- Experience & Background:
- Strong commercial awareness and experience in a trading, commercial, strategy, business management, or related environment.
- Experience within shipping, marine fuels, bunkering, or related industries is highly advantageous, as is previous leadership, mentoring, or project delivery experience.
- Skills & Mindset:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build collaborative relationships across teams and functions.
- Solid understanding of commercial performance, trading principles, business reporting, and trade compliance.
- Proactive approach to continuous learning, process improvement, and handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working Conditions: Flexibility to collaborate across different time zones, with up to 10% travel expected. Relocation assistance within the country is available for eligible candidates.
