Monjasa is looking for a resilient, hungry professional with a strong competitive mindset to support its supply operations and trading activities in New York. The role is designed for an individual who thrives under pressure, loves the thrill of closing a deal, and wants to break into the fast-paced world of commodity trading.
Equipped with hands-on mentorship from experienced traders, the new Trader will manage the full trading cycle from purchase to delivery. Candidates will take full ownership of spot deal execution, analyze market trends, and coordinate closely with internal compliance and credit teams to ensure every transaction remains on solid ground.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management: Develop, nurture, and manage an independent portfolio of customers and suppliers while working to meet ambitious commercial targets.
- Bunker Trading Execution: Execute daily purchases and sales of bunker fuel, securing competitive spot deals and providing specialist advice to drive customer retention.
- Logistical Coordination: Partner with customers, suppliers, and agents to coordinate the seamless logistical planning and execution of marine fuel deliveries.
- Market Expansion: Proactively identify new business opportunities by analyzing evolving market trends and customer demand across regional shipping lanes.
- Risk & Compliance: Work closely in synchronization with internal Compliance and Credit teams to evaluate risk and keep every deal on solid ground.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Applicants should bring professional background in sales, trading, shipping, logistics, or another commercial role. Experience in the bunker or maritime industry is considered an advantage, though not a strict requirement.
- Commercial & Interpersonal Skills: Monjasa is seeking individuals who demonstrate a strong hunger to compete and win, a flair for numbers and negotiation, excellent relationship-building communication skills, and a resilient, proactive attitude.
- Work Authorization: Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
