Fratelli Cosulich Bunkers (S) Pte Ltd has successfully completed its first B100 biofuel bunkering operation in Singapore, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to support the maritime industry’s low-carbon transition. The delivery took place on January 29, 2025, utilizing the IMO Type II chemical bunkering tanker Marta Cosulich, which supplied a parcel of B100 (used cooking oil methyl ester, or UCOME) biofuel to the bulk carrier Nord Argentum, owned by global shipping company NORDEN.
Collaboration with Key Industry Partners
This pioneering bunkering operation was made possible through collaboration with key supply chain partners, including PETCO Trading Labuan Company Limited (PTLCL), a trading arm of PETRONAS, as well as Mitsui & Co. Energy Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd. (METS). By working together, these stakeholders facilitated the seamless supply and delivery of sustainable marine fuel, reinforcing their commitment to advancing the use of alternative energy sources in the maritime sector.
Diana Mok, Managing Director of Fratelli Cosulich Bunkers (S) Pte Ltd, highlighted the company’s vision in promoting sustainable fuel solutions.
“This operation reflects Fratelli Cosulich Marine Energy’s commitment to supporting the maritime industry’s low-carbon transition with a fleet of future-ready bunkering tankers, and we are proud to partner with PTLCL to deliver innovative green energy solutions,” Mok stated.
Mitsui & Co. Energy Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd. (METS) echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing its role in enabling the industry’s decarbonization efforts.
“We are committed to delivering low-carbon solutions and to giving continuous support to our customers’ low-carbonization goals,” a METS spokesperson stated.

Fratelli Cosulich’s ISCC-Certified Biofuels Support Sustainable Bunkering
Fratelli Cosulich’s biofuels are International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) certified, ensuring compliance with globally recognized sustainability standards. This certification guarantees that the biofuels, such as B100 (UCOME), are produced from sustainable feedstocks, reducing carbon emissions and supporting the maritime industry’s transition to cleaner energy. In the bunkering sector, biofuels play a crucial role in decarbonization by offering a drop-in solution that requires no major engine modifications, making them an attractive alternative to conventional fossil fuels.
As the shipping industry navigates stricter environmental regulations and carbon reduction targets, ISCC-certified biofuels provide a reliable pathway toward greener operations. By delivering certified biofuels, Fratelli Cosulich reinforces its commitment to sustainability and ensures that shipowners can meet regulatory and corporate environmental goals with confidence.
