TotalEnergies Marine Fuels welcomes the delivery of LNG Bunker Vessel Brassavola, Singapore’s pioneering membrane LNG bunker vessel, meticulously crafted by Seatrium Limited. The vessel has been proudly handed over to its owner, Indah Singa Maritime Pte. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K Lines (MOL).

Post-delivery, Brassavola is poised to be chartered by Pavilion Energy, a strategic move that will facilitate LNG bunkering services in the renowned Port of Singapore. Scheduled to commence operations in February 2024, the vessel will play a pivotal role in fulfilling a long-term agreement with Pavilion Energy and will also be deployed by TotalEnergies Marine Fuels to serve its customers.

LNG Bunker Vessel Brassavola, conceptualized based on an exclusive design by LMG Marin, a subsidiary of Seatrium, significantly enhances the Group’s portfolio with proven LNG bunker vessel designs of diverse capacities. The vessel, measuring 116.5 meters in length and 22.0 meters in width, incorporates cutting-edge technology for superior loading and an accelerated bunkering rate of up to 2,000m3 per hour. The integration of mass flow metering and online gas chromatograph systems ensures enhanced bunkering turnover and operational efficiency.

With dual-fuel engines, Brassavola takes a bold step toward a cleaner and lower-carbon maritime industry, operating on marine LNG. The vessel’s advanced reliquefaction technology efficiently manages boil-off gas, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions.

Brassavola proudly features two GTT Mark III Flex membrane tanks, characterized by lower internal pressure, temperature, and boil-off rate. These tanks not only enhance durability but also facilitate safer fuel transfer operations, minimizing cargo loss through evaporation. The twin membrane tanks are optimized for weight reduction and space-saving, enabling a larger cargo carrying capacity and greater fuel efficiency during transportation.

Ms. Louise Tricoire, Vice President of TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “The Brassavola plays an important part in our global LNG bunker strategy and in our ambition to help the shipping industry decarbonize using a range of low-carbon fuels. Her arrival will complement our current LNG bunker services in the European hubs of Rotterdam and Marseille, as we take our LNG bunker expertise into new markets.”

The delivery of Brassavola marks a significant milestone in TotalEnergies Marine Fuels’ commitment to advancing sustainable marine solutions. The vessel is poised to contribute to the industry’s decarbonization efforts and reinforces TotalEnergies’ dedication to providing cleaner marine bunkering solutions globally.
