Bunker Purchaser Trading Job Description
As a Bunker Purchaser, you will play a crucial role in developing strategies and delivering reliable bunkering solutions. Your responsibilities will include offering advice to key stakeholders, investigating market trends, and applying best practices based on your market knowledge and expertise.
Your daily tasks will encompass:
- Managing the day-to-day supply chain activities, including back-to-back purchasing from the physical bunker market.
- Supporting colleagues within Bunker Holding by offering guidance and advice.
- Utilizing relevant statistical and hedging tools to secure competitive prices while optimizing trading profits. Proficiency in contract and swap pricing management is advantageous.
- Establishing and optimizing strategic partnerships with suppliers and marketing teams through consistent engagement, bridging the gap between supply and sales teams.
- Developing knowledge and understanding of market legislation and gaining expertise in future fuels, supporting the company’s commitment to being a respected business partner in the green transition.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of sourcing experience, technical insight into bunkering, strong negotiation skills, and project management capabilities. Additional qualifications include:
- A commercial approach to procurement with relevant purchasing qualifications.
- Demonstrated hands-on problem-solving abilities in a multicultural and global environment.
- Experience with risk management solutions is a significant advantage.
