Titan Clean Fuels has signed a strategic off-take agreement with TURN2X to supply e-Methane to the shipping industry, leveraging renewable fuel production in Spain. By utilizing Titan’s expansive network of seven bunker vessels across 52 ports, the partnership enables the scalable distribution of synthetic green gas via existing gas grids. This move marks a significant step in decarbonizing maritime transport through high-volume, low-cost renewable electricity pathways.
Amsterdam | March 30, 2026 – Titan Clean Fuels has solidified its position in the rapidly evolving synthetic fuels market by signing a long-term off-take agreement with TURN2X. The partnership aims to bring scalable e-Methane to the maritime sector, bridging the gap between renewable energy production in Southern Europe and bunkering demand in major global ports.
By combining TURN2X’s production capabilities in Spain, a region characterized by high volumes of low-cost solar and wind energy, with Titan’s extensive bunkering infrastructure, the two companies are providing a clear pathway for shipowners to transition from fossil LNG to carbon-neutral synthetic alternatives.
Scalability via Existing Infrastructure
The strategic advantage of e-Methane lies in its “drop-in” nature. Much like the Bio-LNG handled, e-Methane can be injected into the existing gas grid, transported, and bunkered using Titan’s current fleet of seven vessels without any technical modifications.
“TURN2X’s approach to e-Methane supply is scalable,” said Caspar Gooren, Commercial Director of Renewable Fuels at Titan. “The green fuel can be produced in regions with high volumes of low-cost renewable electricity, injected into the existing gas grid, and delivered in ports where maritime off-takers need it.”
The Fuel of Choice
As the industry moves toward 2030, e-Methane is increasingly viewed as a primary solution for companies seeking to go beyond the limitations of biomass availability.
Philip Kessler, CEO of TURN2X, noted: “We are happy to partner up with Titan and Molgas Energy Group, leaders in clean marine fuels, to decarbonise the shipping industry with e-Methane, the fuel of choice for more and more companies in the maritime sector.”
