The Role: Oil Derivatives Trader – Singapore
Bunker Holding is looking for a structured, proactive, and disciplined professional with a proven understanding of risk to join its high-performing Singapore trading floor through Fueling Maritime (Asia). The role is designed for an experienced trader who thrives in a diverse sales and trading team, capable of handling P&L responsibility while driving franchise growth.
Positioned on an established global trading desk with access to physical assets and an extensive client base, the new Trader will handle daily desk operations, mark forward curves, provide vital market updates, and share tactical intelligence to shape the team’s strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Trading & Strategy Execution: Develop and execute profitable trading strategies, carefully managing position size, risk, and P&L across both proprietary and client deal flows.
- Pricing & Hedging Optimization: Implement effective pricing and hedging strategies to optimize client transactions and drive overall franchise growth.
- Desk Operations & Market Updates: Carry out daily desk tasks, including marking forward curves, providing timely market updates, and engaging closely with sales colleagues.
- Global Risk Management: Assist in the active risk management of global trading books covering oil, gas, and biofuels during Asian trading hours.
- Market Intelligence Sharing: Share market intelligence and tactical approaches, contributing to the collective knowledge and strategic direction of the international trading team.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience trading commodity derivatives with direct P&L responsibility, gained at a bank, financial institution, or physical trading house.
- Market Knowledge: A sound, comprehensive understanding of oil and oil products is essential, while knowledge of biofuels, transition fuels, and financial derivative risks, regulations, and OTC market rules is a strong advantage.
- Risk Management & Systems: A disciplined approach to managing risk, coupled with an excellent understanding of trading systems, exchange rules, and product-specific trading regulations.
- Interpersonal & Working Style: Structured, proactive, a strong team player who enjoys working within a diverse sales and trading environment, while possessing the capability to work independently.
