Acta Marine has announced the delivery of Acta Hercules, its second state-of-the-art DP2 Construction Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) from Tersan Shipyard. Equipped with methanol dual-fuel engines, the vessel begins a five-year charter with Vestas, starting with the Hollandse Kust West offshore wind project in the Netherlands.
Rotterdam | March 24, 2026 – Acta Marine has officially taken delivery of the Acta Hercules, the second in a pioneering series of four Walk-to-Work (W2W) DP2 Construction Service Operation Vessels (CSOV). Built at the Tersan Shipyard in Turkey, the vessel represents a major leap in Acta Marine’s strategy to field a future-ready, low-emission fleet for the offshore energy sector.
Immediately following its delivery, the Acta Hercules will enter a five-year charter with Vestas, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions. Its maiden assignment is set for the Hollandse Kust West project in the Dutch North Sea, marking the beginning of a long-term operational partnership.
Advanced Propulsion and Sustainability Specs
For the bunkering and marine fuel industry, the Acta Hercules is a significant reference point. The vessel is equipped with methanol dual-fuel main engines and is fully methanol-ready. This technical configuration allows Acta Marine to transition to lower-emission operations as the supply infrastructure for green methanol matures across Northwest Europe.
Beyond its engines, the vessel is designed for high-capacity offshore support:
- Personnel Capacity: Accommodations for up to 135 technicians and crew.
- Access Systems: State-of-the-art motion-compensated gangways and offshore access systems for safe W2W transfers.
- Fleet Expansion: Following the Acta Pegasus, this is the second of four sister vessels. The remaining two, Acta Gemini and Acta Aquarius, are slated for delivery later in 2026.
