Singapore-based marine fuel supply and trading firm Opulent Maritime is partnering with ADP Clear to support digital bunkering operations. This collaboration will see Opulent Maritime utilizing ADP Clear’s blockchain-based platform as the electronic Bunker Delivery Note (eBDN) system for its fleet of four barges.
The move aims to ensure compliance with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) eBDN requirements, enhancing transparency throughout the bunkering process.
“We are thrilled to implement the Advanced Delivery Platform across our bunkering operations in Singapore. Through our experience, we have found that ADP is the best product on the market for our needs,” said Matthew Ong, Shipping Manager at Opulent Maritime. “Our crews and customers find ADP intuitive to use and we are especially impressed with its superior connectivity as well as its offline capabilities which ensure the eBDN process always functions smoothly even when our vessels don’t have access to wireless networks.”
Matthew Ong also highlighted the importance of cyber security to Opulent Maritime, noting that “ADP’s data protection standards and secure blockchain architecture provide us the surety that we need.”
“We are excited to be entrusted by Opulent Maritime to lead their digital transition, adding efficiency to their operations and those of their customers by leveraging real-time data and electronic documentation,” said Eunice Low, Business Development Manager at ADP Clear.
About The Advanced Delivery Platform (ADP Clear)
The Advanced Delivery Platform (ADP Clear) is designed to digitize the entire bunker requisition process, allowing real-time transfer of bunkering data between all stakeholders from start to finish. Onboard documentation is handled electronically, with all aspects of the bunkering operation, including fuel quality, operational timelines, and quantity received, documented and made accessible to permitted users.
This system delivers wider access to real-time data on bunkering operations, enabling better scheduling, resource allocation, and improved decision-making throughout the process. The ADP platform’s integrated hardware and software provide a completely transparent and efficient bunker delivery service, reducing costs and risks for customers.
Customers using ADP benefit from visibility into all details of their bunkering operations, including fuel quality, operational timelines, and quantity received as per mass flow meter profiles, all in real-time and accessible from anywhere via the customer portal.
Quantity shortages are a significant issue in the bunkering industry, with shortages amounting to more than 3% of volume in many ports, equating to billions of dollars in losses for the global shipping industry each year. ADP helps reduce the total cost of bunkers procurement, providing 100% certainty over quantity delivered, transparency into fuel quality, and the efficiency of digital documentation.
