URK, Netherlands | August 31, 2026 – Royal Wagenborg is significantly scaling up digital resilience across its global fleet after partnering with De Boer Marine for a comprehensive, multiyear rollout of onboard connectivity, IT, and cybersecurity systems.
The strategic program is designed to future-proof Wagenborg’s operations by securing ship-to-shore communications, modernizing onboard digital infrastructure, and delivering reliable high-speed internet access for crews worldwide.
A Comprehensive Fleetwide Upgrade
Covering roughly 160 owned and managed general cargo vessels, the agreement establishes a fully integrated onboard technology ecosystem managed by De Boer Marine.
The multi-layered technical scope includes:
- Advanced Multi-Path Connectivity: A hybrid setup combining Starlink, OneWeb, Ku-band VSAT, Iridium Certus, and 5G to ensure seamless global coverage.
- Robust IT Infrastructure: Upgrades to onboard network hardware, system installations, and remote support systems.
- Enterprise-Grade Cybersecurity: Deployment of enterprise firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web filtering, endpoint management, and secure remote access. De Boer Marine’s ISO 27001 certification underpins the strict information security demands of the fleetwide project.
- LinQontrol Monitoring: Real-time monitoring and visualization software to track and manage onboard communication data streams.
