Oilmar DMCC has appointed Oğuz Yazıcı as Country Manager for Turkey to lead its regional expansion. Following the recent promotion of Shiwei Liao in Asia, Yazıcı’s appointment marks a “next-phase” growth strategy for Oilmar, including a major recruitment drive for senior and junior bunker traders in the Turkish market.
Istanbult, Turkey | March 12, 2026 – Oilmar DMCC, the Dubai-based global bunker and cargo trading powerhouse, has announced the appointment of Oğuz Yazıcı as Country Manager for Turkey. The promotion marks a strategic pivot for the firm as it enters a “next-phase” growth cycle, focusing on the uniquely strategic crossroads of the Turkish bunkering sector.
Yazıcı, an industry veteran with over 15 years of global shipping experience, joined Oilmar in 2023 as a Bunker Trader. His elevation to Country Manager is coupled with an immediate recruitment drive, as Oilmar seeks to expand its Istanbul-based trading desk with new Senior and Junior positions to support its broadening regional footprint.
A Strategic Crossroads: The Turkish Advantage
The appointment reinforces Oilmar’s belief in the resilience of the Turkish market, which remains a critical hub for vessels transiting between the Mediterranean, the Aegean, and the Black Sea. By strengthening its local leadership, Oilmar is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the transit bunkering volumes that define the region.
Oğuz Yazıcı, Country Manager for Turkey at Oilmar:
“Turkey occupies a uniquely strategic position at the crossroads of major global shipping routes. I am proud to lead our efforts here at a time when the regional bunkering sector is demonstrating such strong resilience and growth potential. Our goal is to stay close to the logistics realities of the Turkish straits to deliver consistent value to our clients.”
Building from Within: Internal Talent Pipeline
This news follows closely on the heels of Shiwei Liao’s promotion to Head of Asia, signaling a clear pattern in Oilmar’s 2026 strategy of elevating internal talent to lead major regional hubs. The expansion also highlights Oilmar’s standing as a “Great Place to Work,” reflecting a corporate culture built on transparency, ethics, and high-performance standards.
Yusif Mammadov, Owner of Oilmar DMCC:
“We are delighted to appoint Oğuz to Country Manager. Under his leadership, we aim to further strengthen our presence in the Turkish market and expand our trading activities across this vital region. This reflects our continued focus on developing leadership from within our own talent pipeline.”
As part of this expansion, the Istanbul office is set to become a primary recruitment hub for the firm, looking for “Senior and Mid-Level” traders to dovetail with Oilmar’s broader international growth targets.
