The Hong Kong office is a significant milestone for the company, becoming the sixth trading desk in its global network, which includes offices in Cyprus, Greece, Singapore, the UK, and a representative office in Shanghai.
Mr. Vangelis Marinakis, Chief Operating Officer of Island Oil, expressed his optimism about the new venture, stating that “the company sees the Hong Kong office as a crucial step toward realizing its vision of being among the most reliable energy and shipping services providers.”
Heading the Hong Kong office is Michell Kamphorst, the Head of International Trading Asia, renowned for establishing the Singapore desk in 2014. The team is further strengthened by the addition of Marshall Chan as a trader, with plans to expand the headcount in the coming months.
