Physical Bunker Trader Responsibilities
Together with our team in London, you will be responsible for the purchase, sale, and supply of fuel and lube oil within the shipping industry. You will be able to build your own client portfolio, with a strong focus on initiating contact with new clients and establishing strong relationships, as well as nurturing and expanding existing customer relationships.
As part of your daily responsibilities, you will also work closely with traders across the world, particularly in northern Europe, ensuring comprehensive service for our customers. This cooperation across northern Europe is facilitated from our office in Aalborg.
Your areas of responsibility will include;
- Negotiating prices and delivering services based on agreed terms.
- Purchasing, selling, and supplying fuel and lube oil.
- Growing the new fuels portfolio.
- Operating and managing the physical supply and logistics with the team.
- Identifying business opportunities and supporting business development activities.
- Understanding customer requirements, providing guidance, and closing deals.
Our team in London and the rest of the Bunker One physical operation are extremely focused on optimizing and utilizing our brand – a journey you will play an important part in.
Developing the European market via knowledge, drive, and team effort
Reporting to the Head of Bunkering in the UK, you will be a key player in the physical operation, identifying new markets and niche opportunities for physical supplies from the London office. While supplying physical barrels onboard our own barges, you will also focus on the physical supply segment of our business across the United Kingdom.

- Minimum of 2+ years in a similar role with relevant experience in marine fuels or shipping.
- Proven track record in establishing and developing successful long-term business partnerships.
- Highly motivated, resourceful, and self-driven.
- Quick-thinking with strong business acumen, negotiation, and numerical skills.
- Motivated by a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
