With reference to the Global Director of Sustainable Fuels, our new Head of Biofuels will be a key stakeholder in executing and driving various strategic initiatives in our journey towards a greener maritime industry. As Bunker Holding wants to play a leading role in the energy transition towards sustainable and zero-emission fuels, we are looking for a driven, passionate professional, who with a commercial mindset can navigate the waters of this ever-changing industry.

An expert profile with a commercial mindset and technical understanding

The Head of Biofuels will be the leading capacity and must have deep expertise in sustainable biofuels for shipping, combined with an eagerness to be at the forefront and push the future game of fuelling the world’s fleet. In this position, you will be building up a biofuel’s fuels business within Bunker Holding. In addition, you will be the spokesperson and go-to-person as regards to biofuels – both internally in the group, as well as externally. You possess a commercial mindset combined with the right technical understanding. Having your finger on the pulse as regards to sustainable fuels is key to succeed in this role. Thus, it is expected that the Head of Biofuels participates in all kinds of initiatives and conferences on the subject.

Professional and personal skills

We expect you to have minimum 7 years experience within the biofuels industry, preferably in a similar commercial leadership role. You possess a good understanding of biofuels and fossil fuels including regulations, pricing, risk management and supply chains. You are familiar with the mandated biofuel markets including Renewable Energy Directive II and III in Europe.

Furthermore, you have:

• Ability to analyse, report and explain laboratory data
• Great stakeholder management skills
• Evidence of engaging closely with customers/partners
• Experience with building up a new business unit would be considered

Experience in communicating with and gaining buy-in from a broad range of stakeholders such as senior business leaders, peers, global partners, and team members to achieve business goals are key to success. You have the ability to anticipate and interpret market changes as well as envision future trends to leverage into business opportunities.

Areas of responsibilities

  • Set and implement the strategic direction for Bunker Holding for biofuels.
  • Develop partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Build, share and use best practices across the BH entities. Create segment specific toolbox.
  • Align and control client engagement across the group.
  • Setting the best team of traders for projects and tenders.
  • Investigate and develop new markets (regions, products, services).
  • Develop and manage group policies for segment cooperation.
  • Assist in identifying new targets and support approach/targeting/account plan.

Location

The position is preferred to be based in either Middelfart, Copenhagen or London.
