Copenhagen, Denmark | September 1, 2026 – Everllence has marked a major milestone in maritime decarbonisation, announcing the successful full-scale testing of its 12-cylinder 175DF-M dual-fuel methanol engine. The rigorous testing campaign was conducted at the company’s dedicated Test and Research Center in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

The latest full-scale validation follows successful single-cylinder test stand optimisations carried out throughout 2025. Key engineering highlights of the 175DF-M (Dual-Fuel Methanol) include:
- Dual-Mode Operation: Successfully validated and executed in both conventional diesel and methanol modes.
- High Efficiency Threshold: Engineered to achieve peak efficiency at over 95% methanol share across a wide operating load range for its variable-speed variant.
- Low-Pressure Injection: Utilises a low-pressure port-fuel-injection (PFI) system, resulting in simpler fuel-supply arrangements, reduced mechanical complexity, and lowered overall installation costs.
- Retrofit Flexibility: Designed with high parts commonality to support straightforward retrofitting, granting shipowners the adaptability to pivot toward carbon-neutral operations when strategically required.
Commercial Rollout & Market Outlook
Everllence confirmed that the commercial momentum for the high-speed engine is already underway, with the first commercial orders officially secured:
- Initial Deliveries: Scheduled for mid-2027.
- Target Sectors: The initial 12V and 16V175DF-M variable-speed gensets are designated for two separate superyacht customers.
- Broader Applications: Beyond superyachts, the platform is strategically positioned to serve tugs, offshore vessels, governmental craft, and passenger ships.
