Senior Trader Key Responsibilities
As Senior Trader, you will work closely with the pricing desk and other departments to leverage technology, data analytics, and market insights for optimal trading strategies. This role involves collaborating with the IT team to ensure seamless integration of trading tools and platforms. Your key tasks include:
- Acting as the group’s market maker for forward fixed prices on bunker and green fuels
- Using IT systems to support both physical and derivatives trading, optimizing pricing models with accurate data
- Developing, alongside the IT team, software and tools to automate risk management processes and pricing updates
- Managing the group’s exposure to price risks through data-driven insights and advanced risk management systems
- Increasing the number of structured products sold, supported by advanced trading platforms
- Educating sales traders on derivatives and structured products, ensuring they are equipped with the latest digital tools for B2B trading
- Working with the IT department to develop marketing materials and digital content for client-facing seminars
IT and Data Integration
The role requires you to be adept at using IT systems that support data management and pricing strategies. Your collaboration with the IT team will involve:
- Ensuring real-time data availability for market trends and pricing, which is critical for accurate decision-making
- Leveraging cloud-based solutions to support remote trading activities and streamline communication between the regional offices
- Utilizing data analytics and digital tools to bridge the gap between derivatives and physical bunkers
- Supporting the development of IT platforms that offer transparency, tracking KPIs, and persistent data monitoring for all trading activities

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both the bunker and IT sectors, with an ability to manage price risks through technology. The following skills are highly desirable:
- Experience in bunker sourcing and understanding of digital risk management tools
- Knowledge of both physical and paper trading, alongside the use of software to manage exposure
- Expertise in using IT platforms for managing market risks, pricing models, and developing structured products
- A proven track record of problem-solving in tech-driven environments, particularly in fast-paced, multicultural settings
- Strong business development skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth, leveraging digital platforms and tools
