Hamina LNG first Vessel Bunkering

Hamina LNG is celebrating a triumphant start to the year with a flurry of activity and newfound interest in their services, resulting in the acquisition of new customers. This week marked a historic milestone for the company as they successfully concluded the first-ever ship LNG bunkering at the Hamina LNG terminal. This achievement was made possible through a collaborative effort with Rohe Solutions and Glander International Bunkering.

The burgeoning interest in Hamina LNG comes at a time when the number of ships utilizing LNG/LBG (liquefied natural gas/liquefied biogas) is on the rise. Utilizing Hamina LNG’s refueling arm at their berth offers significant advantages, ensuring ships receive a full tank of colder LNG directly from storage.

In response to the escalating demand, Hamina LNG has announced the availability of spot capacity during the months of April to June. While the current storage booking level remains high, there is still space available from April onwards. Interested parties are urged to act swiftly as availability may change rapidly.

Hamina LNG Oy has issued a notification regarding spot capacity services, offering opportunities for Terminal Users to reserve capacities for storage and regasification services. These capacities will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, emphasizing the importance of prompt action.

The spot capacities available for reservations from April 2024 to June 2024 include:

  • Storage Service capacity: 195 slots (650 MWh each)
  • Regasification Service capacity (Quarter): 5750 slots (MWh/d)
  • Fixed truck loading capacity: 720, 744, and 720 pieces for April, May, and June respectively.

Additionally, monthly Regasification Service capacity will be auctioned at the end of each Gas Month for the following month.

New Terminal Users seeking spot capacity services are required to follow a comprehensive booking procedure outlined by Hamina LNG. This process involves submitting necessary documents and complying with the terms and conditions set forth by the company.

Once the Terminal Services Contract (TSC) is signed, successful applicants can access Hamina LNG’s services, facilitated through a dedicated customer portal on the company’s website.

Hamina LNG’s commitment to providing efficient and reliable LNG services underscores its position as a key player in the energy industry. With increasing interest and demand for LNG/LBG, Hamina LNG is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of maritime fueling and energy distribution.
