On the 29th of February, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels achieved a significant operational feat as their chartered LNG bunker vessel, the Gas Vitality, conducted the first bunkering operation at anchorage for the company. The operation took place at Marseille Fos, Southern France, where the Gas Vitality successfully provided LNG bunkers to the company’s chartered Product tanker, the Hafnia Languedoc.

This milestone represents a leap forward in operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness for both TotalEnergies Marine Fuels and its clients. By bunkering at anchorage, the company offered the Hafnia Languedoc a more flexible LNG bunkering solution, thereby enhancing operational agility while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Eric Lepesan, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, Bunker Operations Manager, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “We are proud to enable more flexible solutions and to drive positive change in maritime operations.”

The success of this operation was made possible through the collaborative efforts of TotalEnergies Marine Fuels and Hafnia Languedoc dedicated teams and invaluable support from the Port of Marseille Fos. Despite the challenges, comprehensive studies were conducted within a short timeframe to ensure smooth operations and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Headquartered in Singapore, with satellite offices in Paris and Geneva, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence and sustainability in maritime fuel supply.

The successful bunkering operation at anchorage signifies a significant step forward for TotalEnergies Marine Fuels in its mission to revolutionize bunkering operations and drive positive change in the maritime industry.
