UECC, a leader in short sea transportation, operating a modern fleet of Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs), achieved a historic milestone on July 4, 2024, with the first-ever supply of LNG by barge to their multi-fuel LNG battery hybrid vessel ‘Auto Achieve’, at the Port of Drammen, Norway. This momentous occasion marks UECC’s inaugural LNG barge supply within their home country and likely stands as the first such delivery in Drammen and possibly the entire Oslofjord region.
The historic LNG bunkering operation was orchestrated by Molgas Energy Holding using the LNG bunker vessel ‘Pioneer Knutsen’, owned by Knutsen Group OAS. This collaboration underscores the growth of Norway’s LNG barge network, representing a significant stride towards bolstering operational sustainability and minimizing environmental footprint.
“Molgas Norway pushes the boundaries! Just last week, our Norwegian team achieved a major milestone with the successful completion of the first-ever ship-to-ship bunkering operation in Drammen port. We extend heartfelt thanks to UECC for their unwavering trust in our capabilities and for their pivotal role in realizing this pioneering operation.” – Shared by Molgas Energy Holding
