Titan First LNG Bunkering UK

In a significant milestone for the LNG Bunkering industry, Titan has made its debut in the United Kingdom with a successful LNG bunker operation in Dundee, Scotland. The operation took place on February 1st, marking a historic moment for Titan as its LNG carrier, the ‘Alice Cosulich,’ delivered 345 metric tons (MT) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the vessel ‘Living Stone,’ belonging to the prestigious DEME Group.

The operation, which unfolded seamlessly, highlighted the efficiency and professionalism of both the Titan crew and the crew of the receiving vessel. Collaboration among all parties involved, including the Dundee port authorities, played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this delivery.

Expressing gratitude to everyone involved, Titan extended thanks to the skilled crews, Dundee port for their support, and DEME Group for entrusting Titan with this significant operation. This successful venture not only demonstrates Titan’s commitment to excellence but also lays a strong foundation for future collaborations in the dynamic UK energy market.

Titan, established in Amsterdam in 2012, has been a leading supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied biomethane (LBM), also known as BioLNG. Specializing in providing shipping customers with end-to-end clean fuel solutions, Titan offers project planning, supply and delivery, as well as risk management and hedging services to mitigate price fluctuations. As an independent company, Titan collaborates with other suppliers of low-carbon and carbon-neutral marine fuels to ensure reliable availability and supply worldwide.

One of Titan’s notable innovations is the development of the first LNG bunkering barge in Northwest Europe for the ARA (Amsterdam – Rotterdam – Antwerp) region, known as the Titan FlexFueler. Currently, Titan owns two FlexFuelers, both equipped with a 1,500 m³ capacity and 500 m3/h transfer rate, based in Amsterdam and Antwerp. These innovative bunker barges navigate to LNG-powered seagoing vessels to safely supply LNG and BioLNG while they load or unload their cargo. The FlexFuelers significantly minimize costs and maximize operational efficiencies, making them key players in the safe and rapid supply of LNG in the ARA region.

Moreover, Titan charters LNG bunkering vessels (LBVs) on short to medium terms for special bunker projects, having safely delivered fuel in various regions including Indonesia, Singapore, the Mediterranean, Cape Verde Islands, and the Caribbean. The company also conducts daily truck-to-ship (TTS) operations in ports across the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, and now the UK. With its own hardware and accredited delivery protocols, Titan ensures efficient truck-to-ship bunkering processes, allowing for multiple trucks to discharge simultaneously, thus reducing the time required compared to sequential truck deliveries.

Furthermore, Titan has long-term chartered vessels for ship-to-ship operations globally, providing the company with flexibility to scale up and undertake special projects as needed.

The successful debut of Titan in the UK marks a significant step forward in the company’s mission to deliver clean fuels safely across Europe, Asia, and around the world. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, Titan continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of the energy industry.
