Key Responsibilities
- Business Development:
- Leverage industry knowledge to identify new business opportunities.
- Build and expand the client base, while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
- Navigate the marine fuel industry to drive growth and achieve business objectives.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth market research to stay ahead of global marine fuel trends.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients based on evolving market conditions.
- Trading & Brokering:
- Actively manage bunker trading activities, ensuring the best rates for both the company and its clients.
- Execute trades with precision and manage the end-to-end trading process efficiently.
- Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure the company’s interests are protected while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with traders, credit analysts, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of trades.
- Contribute to customer satisfaction through efficient collaboration.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Utilize industry connections to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and suppliers.
- Profit & Loss Management:
- Take ownership of your trading performance and manage your Profit & Loss (P&L).
- Work towards achieving the company’s financial targets.
- Mentorship:
- Provide support and mentorship to junior traders, helping them develop their skills and expertise in the bunker trading industry.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in bunker trading or a related role within the shipping/marine industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the marine fuel industry, including market trends, supplier relationships, and regulatory requirements.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of negotiating favorable terms and closing deals with clients and suppliers.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills, particularly European or Asian languages, are considered a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and other relevant software tools.
- Multitasking Ability: Capable of managing multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously while focusing on meeting deadlines and achieving results.
- Professionalism: Adherence to strong ethical standards, with integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work outside of normal hours when necessary to meet client needs or address market conditions.
