The strategic collaboration focuses on transitioning OliOil’s proprietary on-deck oil spill response container system from the pilot prototype phase into full-scale industrial manufacturing. Under the agreement, Elomatic will spearhead the complex mechanical, electrical, and marine engineering work required to turn the autonomous containerized system into a globally scalable, highly reliable product capable of operating under challenging marine conditions.
The Autonomous Deployment Pipeline
OliOil’s technology shifts ocean protection from a slow, manual shore-dependent process to a localized, autonomous first-response operation. Boom deployment is the critical first step in any spill response, preventing the oil’s spread and enabling efficient oil recovery with specialized collection equipment. The system operates through a seamless, automated chain of events:
- Spill Event: An accidental oil discharge occurs during bunkering, cargo transit, or port operations.
- AI Detection & Trigger: Integrated AI and intelligent sensors instantly recognize the discharge, bypassing human latency to activate the response container.
- Autonomous Launch: The specialized hoisting system activates, automatically launching containerized boats from the deck or port berth into the water.
- Boom Release: The robotic vessels deploy heavy-duty inflatable containment booms directly at the immediate source of the incident.
