Longship Advances Green Shipping with Nextgen Diesel-Electric Vessels

Longship welcomes Nextgen Longera

Longship proudly announces the successful delivery of Longera, marking a significant advancement in its commitment to fleet modernization and sustainable shipping practices. The vessel, delivered on 25 June by Atlas Shipyard, represents the culmination of three years of meticulous research, development, and dedication from Longship’s exceptional team and valued partners.

Longera is the first in a series of four 8,600 dwt newbuildings ordered from Atlas Shipyard. Featuring an innovative hull design and diesel-electric propulsion system, Longera boasts ultra-low fuel consumption, setting new standards in efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Longera embarks on her maiden voyage loaded with windmill blades, symbolizing not just the start of her operational life but also Longship’s dedication to sustainable shipping practices.

Longearth Christening

In conjunction with Longera’s delivery, Longship celebrated the launch of Longearth on 27 June. The christening ceremony, graced by Mrs. Virginie Leunen and attended by Dutch Consul-General Mr. Arjen Uijterlinde, highlighted the beginning of a new era for Longship in advancing sustainable fleet operations.
