The partnership is anchored by the immediate establishment of a dedicated storage, distribution, and bunkering hub at the Breviksterminalen in Grenland Havn.
This integrated project effectively solves the “chicken and egg” dilemma of the energy transition by synchronizing industrial demand, maritime logistics, and fuel availability in a single geographic cluster.

This is now happening through the purchase agreement and the establishment of a bunkering station in Brevik. The establishment of infrastructure is an important step in making the use of green methanol easier, not only for us, but also for other shipowners and stakeholders who want to invest in green methanol.”
Heidelberg Materials is backing this commitment with hardware; the company is scheduled to deploy a dedicated cement carrier powered by green methanol as early as 2028.
