Shanghai, China – June 3, 2025 — Envision Energy, a global leader in green technology, has signed a landmark green ammonia offtake agreement with Marubeni Corporation, one of Japan’s top trading houses. This agreement marks a significant step in the global commercialization of green ammonia, setting a new benchmark for sustainable energy trade and reinforcing the growing importance of hydrogen-ammonia solutions in decarbonizing industry.

The strategic collaboration brings together Envision Energy’s cutting-edge capabilities in integrated green hydrogen-ammonia technologies with Marubeni’s deep expertise in global energy trade. The partnership aims to scale up the production, supply, and market deployment of green ammonia—an essential solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors such as fertilizers, chemicals, shipping, and power generation.

“The global energy transition is accelerating, and hydrogen-ammonia will play a crucial role,” said Frank Yu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy. “With Marubeni, we’re turning green ammonia into a commercially viable energy source—powering cleaner transportation, greener industrial processes, and carbon-neutral electricity generation.”

The agreement supports Japan’s national green energy objectives and is expected to spur investment and innovation in the broader Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Envision’s Green Hydrogen-Ammonia Mega Project

Envision Energy is currently developing the world’s largest commercial green hydrogen-ammonia facility, designed around its innovative net-zero industrial park model. The project integrates wind and solar energy directly with hydrogen production and ammonia synthesis, optimizing efficiency and lowering carbon intensity.

  • Phase 1 (2024): Production began with an annual output of 300,000 tons of green ammonia.
  • Full Capacity (Planned): Scaled to 1.5 million tons per year upon completion.

The plant uses a full-stack technology approach—including alkaline and PEM electrolysis systems—combined with intelligent system integration to address common challenges such as intermittency and energy efficiency.
