A New Generation of Green Energy Vessels
The new boxships, measuring 335.9 meters in length and 51 meters in width, are part of a new generation of vessels designed to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. Key features include:
- Invisible Bulb Bow and Stern Energy-Saving Device: These design innovations contribute to reduced drag and enhanced fuel efficiency.
- High Loading Capacity for Reefer Containers: The vessels are optimized for transporting temperature-sensitive cargo, supporting global trade in perishable goods.
- Dual-Fuel Methanol Engine and Generator: The ships are equipped with dual-fuel engines that can operate on methanol, a cleaner alternative to conventional marine fuels, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
- Permanent Magnet Shaft Generator: These vessels boast the world’s most powerful permanent magnet shaft generators, contributing to efficient power generation and reduced fuel consumption.
- Bow Wind Deflector and Air Lubrication System: These systems enhance aerodynamic performance and reduce hull resistance, further improving fuel efficiency.
- Intelligent Systems: Developed by COSCO SHIPPING, these systems comply with the third phase of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) and the latest cybersecurity regulations, ensuring both operational efficiency and security.
