Chevron is seeking an experienced Marine Fuels Marketer to join its Global Supply & Trading organization in London, offering marine fuels professionals the opportunity to work at the intersection of traditional bunker fuel markets and the growing renewable fuels sector.
The role combines responsibility for commercial marine fuel sales across Europe with support for Chevron’s expanding renewable products trading activities, including biodiesel and renewable diesel origination. The successful candidate will work directly with international shipping companies, fuel suppliers, and internal trading teams while helping drive growth across both conventional and lower-carbon fuel markets.

The Role: Marine Fuels Marketer
Based in London, the Marine Fuels Marketer will be responsible for the commercial sales and marketing of physical bunker fuels to international shipping customers, with a particular focus on European markets. The position sits within Chevron’s Global Supply & Trading organization and requires a commercially driven individual capable of managing customer relationships, identifying trading opportunities, and executing both spot and term bunker fuel transactions.
In addition to marine fuels marketing responsibilities, the successful candidate will support Chevron’s Renewable Products Trading team by assisting with biodiesel and renewable diesel origination activities, helping identify supply opportunities and supporting trade execution processes.
The role offers direct exposure to evolving marine fuel regulations, alternative fuels, and the shipping industry’s ongoing decarbonization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Marine Fuels Sales & Marketing: Develop and maintain strong relationships with international shipping companies, bunker buyers, and trading partners while executing spot and term marine fuel sales designed to maximize commercial value and profitability.
- Renewable Fuels Support: Support Chevron’s biodiesel and renewable diesel trading activities through supplier engagement, market development initiatives, and origination efforts that contribute to the growth of the company’s lower-carbon fuels portfolio.
- Trade Execution & Commercial Coordination: Work closely with traders, originators, scheduling teams, operations personnel, and risk management functions to ensure efficient transaction execution and commercial performance.
- Market Intelligence & Analysis: Monitor marine fuel and renewable fuels markets, supply-demand fundamentals, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to support pricing decisions and commercial strategy development.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Chevron during commercial negotiations, customer meetings, and industry events while maintaining strong relationships with external counterparties and internal stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with logistics, credit, compliance, operations, and trading teams to ensure seamless delivery of commercial activities across both conventional and renewable fuel markets.
Candidate Profile
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of five years of experience in marine fuels, bunker trading, renewable fuels, commodity trading, or related commercial energy roles.
Commercial Expertise: Applicants must demonstrate strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of marine fuel markets and renewable fuels sectors, including the ability to identify opportunities and execute profitable commercial strategies.
Regulatory Knowledge: An understanding of key regulatory frameworks impacting shipping and fuel markets will be highly valuable, including:
- EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS)
- FuelEU Maritime
- Renewable Energy Directive III (RED III)
- International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred.
