The Role: Business Development Lead – Asia Pacific & Middle East
As the Business Development Lead, you will be responsible for building and expanding high-level partnerships across the marine fuels value chain. This is a strategic role focused on originating new opportunities, engaging C-suite decision-makers, and advising clients on the evolving regulatory and decarbonization landscape in shipping.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic Growth: Develop and implement tactical strategies to expand demand and improve margin growth for key regional customers.
- Partnership Building: Maintain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with senior stakeholders (C-suite/VP level) within shipping organizations.
- Future Fuel Leadership: Leverage in-depth knowledge of the low/zero-carbon fuel landscape to create customer-ready proposals.
- Market Insight: Deliver compelling value propositions by monitoring external market trends, competitor moves, and regulatory shifts.
- Internal Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams to ensure customer needs are met and internal strategies are aligned.
Candidate Profile
Professional Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in the bunker (marine fuels) industry in a commercially accountable role. (10+ years preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of both the buying and selling sides of the bunker industry and decarbonization pathways.
- Strategic Skills: Proven ability to engage executive-level decision-makers and execute complex growth strategies.
- Communication: Fluent in English and professional working proficiency in at least one Asian language.
