This role is pivotal in supporting Unicore’s regional growth strategy and strengthening its presence across the ARA region and Europe. The position can be based in Rotterdam, Copenhagen, or Monaco, depending on the candidate’s location and qualifications.
This is a strategic opportunity for a commercially driven procurement professional with a background in oil trading or shipping to play a direct role in shaping sourcing strategies and enabling the energy transition in the marine fuel sector.

Driving Regional Supply Excellence and Stakeholder Collaboration
As a Senior Purchaser, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day supply activities, optimizing pricing strategies, and fostering strong supplier relationships. Your insight into bunkering operations and market dynamics will directly support our business units across Europe. You will report to the Regional Manager, Europe, and collaborate closely with trading and marketing teams to deliver innovative and reliable sourcing solutions for conventional and alternative fuels.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Managing daily purchasing operations and supporting back-to-back trading from the physical fuel market.
- Advising traders and commercial teams by offering insights, guidance, and pricing strategies based on your understanding of market conditions.
- Applying statistical models and hedging tools to secure competitive fuel prices and optimize profit margins.
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with regional and global suppliers.
- Contributing to long-term supply planning by monitoring regulatory changes, fuel specifications, and emerging sustainable fuel trends.
- Driving business development by identifying sourcing opportunities, enhancing portfolio diversity, and expanding Unicore’s market share in both traditional and alternative fuels.
Candidate Profile: Strategic, Commercial, and Results-Oriented
Unicore Fuel is looking for a seasoned sourcing professional with a proactive mindset and a solid understanding of the bunkering and marine fuels industry. The right candidate will be an effective communicator and negotiator who can bridge commercial priorities with long-term supply security and sustainability.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 8–10 years of experience in fuel sourcing or procurement, preferably within the shipping or oil trading industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of bunkering operations.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record in building supplier relationships.
- A structured, positive, and results-driven approach to work.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration, ideally across global teams.
- Fluency in English, with additional language skills considered an asset.
