The renewed MoU was officially signed by Mr. Teo Eng Dih, Chief Executive of MPA, and Ms. Hinda Gharbi, Group CEO of Bureau Veritas. The ceremony highlights a mutual commitment to sustainable maritime transformation and capacity-building in one of the world’s most advanced port nations.

New Global Innovation Hub on the Horizon

One of the key developments under this renewed partnership is the exploration of a Bureau Veritas Global Innovation Hub in Singapore. This hub will focus on pioneering emerging technologies across industries, including:

Under the renewed MoU, MPA and BV will jointly develop cutting-edge digital and decarbonisation solutions. Areas of focus include:

  • Smart ship systems
  • Artificial Intelligence for vessel inspections
  • Robotics for in-water applications
  • Zero and near-zero GHG emission fuels
  • Electrification and wind-assisted propulsion technologies

These initiatives aim to bolster the transition toward a greener and more resilient maritime sector, aligning with global targets for IMO 2050 decarbonisation and Singapore’s national Green Plan 2030.
