Bunker Trader Key Responsibilities
As a Bunker Trader, your core responsibilities will include:
- Managing and servicing fuel supply requirements for existing customers, ensuring they receive optimal service.
- Proactively identifying new business opportunities with existing customers to enhance their experience and deepen business relationships.
- Conducting market research to identify and pursue potential new customers, analyzing client needs, and creating action plans for converting prospects into new accounts.
- Analyzing market data and disseminating relevant information to uncover new business opportunities.
- Visiting both existing and new customers regularly to strengthen relationships and explore opportunities for further business development.
- Maintaining an up-to-date database of active customer targets and prospects to track and monitor progress.
- Acting as a reliable point of contact for customer requests, ensuring smooth and efficient transactions.
- Monitoring customer credit lines and credit exposure to mitigate financial risks.
- Supporting the operational and logistics aspects of fuel delivery, working closely with suppliers to resolve claims and ensure that customers are satisfied with services.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this role should possess:
- At least three years of experience in the shipping or marine fuel industry.
- A strong understanding of commodity market dynamics and how they influence pricing and business development strategies.
- A resilient and determined character, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills to interpret market information and set competitive pricing for products.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage with customers and stakeholders.
