The christening ritual was performed by Ms. Chih-Jung Chang, who blessed the vessel, wishing it safe voyages and good fortune as it prepares to join Wan Hai’s growing fleet. WAN HAI A17 Vessel Specifications and Series Overview

“WAN HAI A17” is the tenth vessel in a series of thirteen 13,100 TEU containerships ordered by Wan Hai Lines from Samsung Heavy Industries since 2021. The vessel is expected to be delivered by late August 2024 and will be deployed on the company’s Asia to East Coast of North America service, “AA7.”

This state-of-the-art containership measures 335 meters in length, 51 meters in breadth, and 16 meters in draft, with a maximum cruising speed of 22 knots. It is equipped with newly designed, environmentally friendly engines that provide energy-saving and fuel-efficient capabilities. Moreover, the vessel has received the “Smart Ship Notation” certification, ensuring safe and reliable maritime transportation services by enabling real-time monitoring of ship navigation data and equipment operation.
