TFG Marine has signed a USD 300 million working capital facility with DBS Bank, utilizing electronic bunker delivery notices (eBDNs) to enhance transparency and risk management. This landmark deal, supported by ZeroNorth and SGTraDex, establishes a new digital benchmark for marine fuel trade financing.
Singapore | May 6,2026 – TFG Marine, the global marine fuel supply powerhouse, has successfully closed a USD 300 million working capital financing facility with DBS Bank. Beyond the significant liquidity injection, the deal stands as a landmark for the industry by integrating electronic bunker delivery notices (eBDNs) directly into the financing mechanism, driving unprecedented transparency in the marine fuel supply chain.
The facility leverages TFG Marine’s strategic collaborations with maritime tech pioneer ZeroNorth and the Singapore Trade Data Exchange (SGTraDex). By utilizing eBDNs, the partners provide a verifiable, real-time digital record of bunker deliveries, allowing for the seamless audit and verification of transactions financed under the facility.
The Digital Shift: From Optional to Essential
The integration of eBDNs represents a move away from traditional, paper-based “on-request” documentation to a model where financial institutions can access delivery data on-demand. This shift significantly reduces trade friction, mitigates the risk of fraud, and enhances the integrity of data across the bunkering process.
TFG Marine has already proven the scalability of this technology, having recently executed the first eBDN solution in the Middle East at the Port of Sohar, Oman. This latest facility with DBS expands that digital footprint, cementing Singapore’s role as the vanguard of digital bunkering.
Voices of Leadership: The Impact of Transparent Finance
Bennett Pekkattil, CFO of TFG Marine, stated “We are grateful for DBS’ support and encouraged by their recognition of the greater need for digital transparency in the marine fuels industry. We hope that more financial institutions will follow their lead, and we look forward to continuing to develop our digital capabilities in support of more efficient and resilient supply chains. By deploying electronic bunker delivery notices through our collaboration with ZeroNorth and SGTraDex, we continue to advance our transparency and data integrity objectives.”
Terence Yong, Global Head of Sales, GTS at DBS Bank, commented “Through this deal with TFG Marine, we are proud to have championed a further benchmark in digital trade financing. This digital financing solution provides expanded trade capacity, improves transparency and operational efficiency, reduces trade risk and eliminates friction. This is especially relevant to Singapore as the world’s leading bunkering hub.”
Nicolas Queru, Chief Growth Officer at ZeroNorth, noted “This transaction is a great example of the growing financial value of trusted data. Greater transparency can strengthen confidence across the transaction chain and improve access to capital. We are proud to support TFG Marine in demonstrating the tangible financial value digital infrastructure can create.”
Jefferson Wong, CEO of SGTraDex Services, added “This collaboration marks a shift from on-request use of eBDNs to a model where banks can access eBDNs on-demand, paving the way for the digital document to become integral to marine fuel financing. SGTraDex and DEX remain focused on providing the neutral, secure data infrastructure necessary to scale such initiatives.”
