The Role: Marine Energy Trader
Location: Singapore or Dubai
Shipergy is seeking commercially driven and experienced Marine Energy Trader to join their global trading team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and closing bunker fuel transactions with a diverse range of market participants including shipping companies, suppliers, and other stakeholders. By leveraging Shipergy’s proprietary tools and market intelligence, you will play a key part in driving profitability while maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators, and fuel suppliers worldwide.
- Identify and execute trading opportunities within the global marine fuels market.
- Manage the full procurement and sales process for fuel, ensuring competitive pricing and operational excellence.
- Utilize Shipergy’s proprietary technology and digital tools to optimize P&L.
- Continuously monitor and assess market trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors that may impact bunker prices and supply chains.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including operations, finance, and compliance, to ensure seamless deal execution.
- Expand Shipergy’s global client base by actively seeking and onboarding new customers.
- Ensure strict adherence to company credit policies and risk management practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bunker trading, fuel procurement, or related marine energy trading roles, with an established portfolio of clients.
- Strong existing network within the shipping or marine fuels industry, including clients and suppliers.
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, while effectively collaborating with a global team.
- Comfortable using digital trading tools and CRM platforms.
- Solid knowledge of marine fuel grades, pricing mechanisms, and market fundamentals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive trading environment.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
