Phinu, an accomplished leader in the energy trading sector, brings more than two decades of extensive experience in fuel oil trading, risk management, and petroleum markets to the global powerhouse. Based in Dubai, he assumed this pivotal role in January 2025, positioning himself to spearhead BGN’s fuel oil strategy and regional growth.
A Career Defined by Excellence
Phinu Philip’s professional journey is marked by leadership roles at some of the most prominent companies in the energy sector. Prior to joining BGN, he served as Head of Fuel Oil – Asia at Montfort, where he led strategic trading initiatives and operational excellence. At Coral Energy, he played a crucial role as Trading Manager Fuel Oil, ensuring efficient trading practices and achieving regional market success.
Phinu also brought his expertise to PetroChina International, where he served as Fuel Oil Trading Manager for six years, delivering exceptional results. His nearly decade-long tenure at Shell included roles as Fuel Oil Trader, Fuel Oil Operator, and Risk Analyst, where he honed his skills in trading operations and risk management. He began his career at ENOC as a Risk and Financial Analyst, laying a solid foundation for his future success.
Phinu holds a master’s in international business from The International University (TIU). This academic achievement has shaped his global perspective and strategic mindset, enabling him to excel in navigating the complexities of the energy trading landscape.
