Bapco Energies and TotalEnergies are teaming up in petroleum products trading. His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bapco Energies, met with Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies, and Mark Thomas, CEO of Bapco Energies. This meeting laid the groundwork for cooperation between the two companies. TotalEnergies will assist Bapco Energies in optimizing its Sitra refinery, currently undergoing upgrades, and in trading petroleum products. With its global expertise in oil supply and refining, TotalEnergies aims to enhance Bapco Energies operations.
On March 3rd, 2024, Patrick Pouyanné, the Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, convened a pivotal meeting in Bahrain alongside His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who serves as both His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies. Also present was Mark Thomas, the Group CEO of Bapco Energies. This gathering signified a notable milestone as it set the foundation for a joint initiative between TotalEnergies and Bapco Energies in the realm of petroleum products trading.
Under the terms of this strategic partnership, TotalEnergies will extend its support to Bapco Energies in optimizing its Sitra refinery, which is currently undergoing upgrades. Furthermore, TotalEnergies will play a pivotal role in facilitating the trading of petroleum products for Bapco Energies. Leveraging its global oil and feedstock supply capacity, as well as its refined expertise in refining and trading, TotalEnergies aims to enhance the operational efficiency and value generation for Bapco Energies.
“We are pleased to have been selected by the Bahraini authorities to support Bapco Energies in optimizing their downstream petroleum operations, with a view to maximizing value for Bahrain.
