Petronet LNG Limited (PLL), a key player in India’s energy landscape, has taken a significant step forward by signing binding Transaction Documents with Gopalpur Ports Limited for the establishment of its maiden LNG Terminal on the east coast of India.

On December 27, 2023, PLL formalized crucial agreements, including the Sub-Concession Agreement, Sub-Lease deed, and Port Service Agreement, solidifying its collaboration with Gopalpur Ports Limited.

The primary focus of this partnership is the development of a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU)-based LNG terminal at Gopalpur Port, District – Ganjam, Odisha. In its initial phase, the terminal is designed with a capacity of approximately 4 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA), with provisions for future expansion to a 5 MMTPA land-based terminal.
