Oilmar is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bunker Trader / Marine Fuel Trader to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing and selling marine fuel to vessels, ensuring competitive pricing, and guaranteeing timely delivery. The role includes building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and clients, negotiating contracts, and managing the logistics of fuel delivery, all while staying informed on market trends and pricing.
As a Bunker Trader, you will work in a fast-paced environment, making quick, informed decisions and effectively managing financial and operational risks. Strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct back-to-back bunker trading, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with ship owners, operators, and charterers.
- Leverage the existing team and supply sources for optimal fuel procurement.
- Oversee the entire supply chain and trade cycle, from loading operations to delivery and payment processing.
- Maintain responsibility for managing and collecting accounts receivables and relevant payments.
- Provide daily pricing indications from suppliers to the team and clients.
- Document and follow up on all trade-related activities and payments using Excel and the company’s ERP system.
- Achieve KPIs and monthly targets, ensuring consistent performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in bunker trading or a related field within the maritime industry.
- Strong understanding of the maritime industry, vessel operations, fuel specifications, and international bunkering regulations.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and clients.
- Understanding of financial markets, risk management, and the ability to analyze market trends and pricing.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices for pollution prevention in the maritime industry.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude and strong organizational skills.
