Helsinki, Finland – 17 July 2025 – Ahti Pool, the emissions compliance platform making regulatory alignment seamless for European shipping, has announced that Rederiet Stenersen AS, the family-owned Norwegian shipowner, has joined its FuelEU Maritime pool.

This strategic partnership brings together Stenersen’s advanced tanker fleet and Ahti’s emissions-management expertise to further decarbonize the Northern European tanker trade and streamline compliance with the EU’s ambitious climate regulations.

A Pioneering Step Toward Emissions Compliance

Stenersen, known for operating one of the most environmentally efficient intermediate tanker fleets in Europe, will integrate all 19 of its chemical and product tankers (13,000–18,500 dwt) into Ahti Pool’s platform. In a typical year, these vessels cover over 500,000 nautical miles and call at more than 120 ports worldwide. Now, they will also be backed by Ahti’s proprietary compliance tools, offering access to optimized bunker sourcing and simplified CO₂ monitoring, reporting, and verification.

Joining Ahti Pool is a natural extension of our mission to provide safe, reliable, and effective transportation while pursuing the highest environmental standards,” said Christopher Stenersen, Environmental Advisor at Rederiet Stenersen. For our FuelEU Maritime compliance, we chose Ahti Climate based on their competitive pricing, deep industry insight, and operational flexibility.

Pooling Forces for the Green Transition

Stenersen joins a growing list of high-profile shipping companies leveraging Ahti’s emissions pooling framework. Ahti Pool currently manages hundreds of vessels, including the handysize and ultramax fleets of the Van Weelde Group, as well as ships from Bore and Spliethoff. In total, the platform manages more than €100 million of emissions exposure under FuelEU Maritime regulation.
