Global bunker trading firm Monjasa recently announced significant milestones in its Asian operations, reaffirming its dedication to growth and excellence. These accomplishments were unveiled during a special event attended by valued customers, suppliers, and friends from across Asia, where exciting developments took center stage.

Fleet Expansion with Second Vessel

The announcement of a second vessel joining Monjasa’s Singapore operations, following the company’s recent announcement, underscores Monjasa’s expanding presence and activities in the region.

New Office at 1 Raffles Place

Monjasa unveiled a new, larger office space at 1 Raffles Place, designed to accommodate up to 40 colleagues. This modern office facility caters to both business operations and leisure, inviting visitors to explore the premises at their convenience. Situated on the 33rd floor of the historic 1 Raffles Place building, Monjasa’s new office provides a panoramic view of the bustling Singapore Strait, which hosts around 1,000 anchored ships at any given time. Serving as the nerve center for managing Monjasa’s expanding operations in Singapore, the office boasts a trading floor, reception area, conference rooms, and a well-appointed kitchen-bar-dining area.

Promotion of Morten Jacobsen to Managing Director Asia

Monjasa announced the promotion of Morten Jacobsen, formerly the General Manager, to the role of Managing Director Asia. Morten’s journey with Monjasa began as a one-person operation in Singapore in 2010, handling less than 100,000 tonnes annually. Under his leadership, Monjasa’s Asian presence has matured, becoming more deeply rooted in the maritime industry and embodying the core values of Monjasa while maintaining an authentic and cheerful approach.

In response to growing demand, Monjasa’s Asian team has expanded to include over 30 colleagues across the region. Notably, Monjasa Asia achieved a milestone by supplying a record-breaking 1 million tonnes of marine fuels to the shipping industry in 2022, from its offices in Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Shanghai. These accomplishments reflect Monjasa’s commitment to delivering quality marine fuels and services while fostering growth and innovation in the maritime sector.

Monjasa expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the guests who attended the event, highlighting their continuous support in achieving these significant milestones.
