Amalthea is the first of a revolutionary series of 8,000 dwt LNG-powered bunker tankers, designed to meet the growing demand for cleaner, more efficient marine fuel solutions. Deployed to support Minerva’s rapidly expanding operations in Singapore, Amalthea is positioned to enhance the company’s ability to serve its diverse customer base with the latest in environmentally friendly fuel technology.
Crafted by the renowned Jiangmen Hangtong Shipyard in China and registered under the Singapore flag, Amalthea is engineered to the highest standards, adhering to Bureau Veritas classification. Powered by twin Yanmar LNG dual-fuel engines, the vessel offers a significant reduction in emissions while providing the flexibility to operate on both traditional marine fuels and LNG. The vessel’s 100m³ Type-C LNG fuel tank symbolizes Minerva’s forward-thinking approach to fuel innovation, combining enhanced operational performance with reduced environmental impact.
