About the Job: Bunker Trader
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the marine fuels trade, combined with excellent strategic thinking and commercial decision-making skills. The primary responsibility will be managing relationships with both customers and suppliers, ensuring the continuous sales flow, and capitalizing on new opportunities to increase the sales volume. The successful candidate will also be expected to keep a close eye on global bunker market trends, using their expertise to create competitive pricing and sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Portfolio Management: Oversee and maintain relationships with current clients, while also acquiring new customers.
- Market Monitoring: Regularly track global bunker market trends and pricing to develop competitive sales strategies.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and sustain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely, reliable, and cost-effective fuel supply.
- Business Development: Create new opportunities for business growth to drive sales volume.
- Price Analysis & Commercial Solutions: Analyze fluctuations in fuel prices and offer customers the best possible commercial solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth after-sales processes and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Customer Satisfaction & Retention: Focus on maintaining long-term business partnerships with customers and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in bunker trading (sales, procurement, or broking).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of marine fuels trade and a broad customer/supplier portfolio.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills; analytical thinking with a result-oriented approach.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required.
- Technical Skills: Competence in MS Office and CRM systems.
- Decision-Making: Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems under pressure.
- Teamwork: Proactive, strategic thinking with a strong ability to collaborate as part of a team.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Maritime Network: A broad network within the maritime sector.
- Bunker Trading Software: Familiarity with bunker trading software and digital platforms.
- Regional Trading Experience: Experience in bunker trading across different regions.
