The International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC EU) is a globally recognized system that ensures the sustainable production and traceability of fuels. By securing the “Trader with Storage” scope, Golden Island is now authorized to:
- Supply B100 and Green Methanol: The company can provide these low-carbon fuels with verified Sustainability Proofs (PoS), essential for shipowners to claim carbon reductions.
- Ensure Chain of Custody: The certification guarantees that sustainable fuels (Biofuels and Green Methanol) are tracked and handled without contamination from conventional fuels throughout the supply and storage process.
- Compliance with RED III & FuelEU Maritime: The certification directly supports partners in meeting the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) and the FuelEU Maritime requirements, which mandate lower greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity for energy used on ships.
