Dan-Bunkering and Baseblue Integration

Middelfart, Denmark | December 1, 2025 – In a significant move to strengthen its presence across the European market, Dan-Bunkering, a leading marine fuel solutions provider under the Bunker Holding Group, has successfully completed the integration of Baseblue Netherlands.

Effective December 1, 2025, Baseblue’s operations in Groningen, Netherlands, will be fully absorbed into the Dan-Bunkering Europe division. This strategic transfer is designed to be seamless for customers and is a direct execution of Bunker Holding’s overarching Fit for Future strategy, which prioritizes operational efficiency, structural alignment, and greater specialization across its brands.

A Strategic Consolidation in European Bunkering

The integration of the Groningen office marks a critical step in Dan-Bunkering’s ongoing effort to reinforce its footprint in key European maritime hubs. By bringing the Baseblue Netherlands team under the Dan-Bunkering umbrella, the company gains immediate access to a seasoned team of fuel experts and established local relationships.

Claus Bulch Klausen, CEO of Dan-Bunkering, emphasised the long-term benefits of the merger:

The integration of the Groningen office marks an important step in our journey towards moving closer together within the Bunker Holding Group. At Dan-Bunkering, we really look forward to welcoming our new Dutch colleagues and harvest the synergies from joining forces.”

This consolidation is explicitly aimed at enhancing the value proposition offered to customers and business partners throughout Europe by combining the strengths of both entities.

The Mandate: Bunker Holding’s ‘Fit for Future’ Strategy

This organizational shift is driven by the mandate of the Bunker Holding Group’s ‘Fit for Future’ strategy. This multi-faceted strategy focuses on several core areas critical to navigating the industry’s complexities, including:

  • Streamlining Operations: Simplifying internal processes and structures to improve efficiency.
  • Strengthening Alignment: Ensuring regional teams and commercial operations work in closer coordination.
  • Focusing on Specialization: Better equipping the Group to handle complex market dynamics, including the transition to new and alternative fuels.

Anders Grønborg, CCO of Bunker Holding, confirmed the alignment:

Bringing the two teams together is consistent with our strategy and Bunker Holding’s ambition to streamline operations and strengthen alignment across our teams. We are very confident that the vast experience and local know-how, that the team in the Netherlands will bring into Dan-Bunkering, will enhance team collaboration in Europe and eventually create an even stronger platform for Dan-Bunkering to serve its customers.

Enhanced Regional Setup and Market Stake

The immediate operational impact of the integration is the creation of a stronger regional setup for Dan-Bunkering. The combined entity is poised to:

  1. Solidify Market Share: Increase its overall stake and competitive presence in the highly strategic European bunker market.
  2. Leverage Local Know-How: Integrate the Netherlands team’s deep understanding of local market conditions and port procedures into the broader Dan-Bunkering network.
  3. Deliver Comprehensive Value: Ensure customers receive excellent service supported by the combined global resources and comprehensive capabilities of the larger organization.

For existing Baseblue customers and suppliers, all activities and relationships handled out of the Netherlands office will continue uninterrupted, now benefitting from full access to the combined strength and global network of Dan-Bunkering.

Seamless Transition and Leadership Structure

To ensure continuity, all operations under the new combined entity will be managed by Hans Lind Dollerup, Managing Director of Dan-Bunkering Europe. The teams in both Dan-Bunkering and the former Baseblue Netherlands office are instructed to maintain “business as usual” throughout the transition phase.

A Pattern of Integration within Bunker Holding

The absorption of Baseblue Netherlands into Dan-Bunkering Europe follows a recent, similar integration within the Bunker Holding portfolio. In November 2025, Baseblue’s offices in the Eastern Mediterranean were integrated into another prominent Group brand, KPI OceanConnect, signalling a clear, group-wide plan to fully consolidate the Baseblue brand into core existing trading entities during the current financial year.
