Bunker One, a global leader in physical bunker supply, has successfully concluded the first bunkering operation at Sepetiba Out of Ports Limits (OPL) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality marine fuels and services in the region. Officially announced earlier this month, the operation represents a strategic expansion for Bunker One, offering a new fueling option for vessels navigating the crucial East-South Atlantic routes.
Peter Zachariassen, CEO of Bunker One, expressed his enthusiasm for the accomplishment “Our new bunkering operation in Sepetiba OPL is fully operational, and our first successful delivery has already been completed. This expansion is a game-changer for vessels on these vital routes, and we are proud to introduce new bunkering alternatives for the Offshore Oil & Gas sector.”
The success of this operation at Sepetiba OPL highlights the strong collaboration between Bunker One and Acelen, Brazil’s largest bunker fuel producer, ensuring that the highest international safety standards are upheld. This new bunkering station is set to become a key fueling hub for various vessels, including general cargo ships, bulk carriers, tankers, and offshore support vessels operating near significant pre-salt basins like Campos and Santos. The expectation is to supply 20,000 tons of bunker fuel per month at Sepetiba.
“This milestone underscores the strength of the Bunker One and Acelen partnership,” added Zachariassen. “A huge high five to all team members at Bunker One, Acelen, and Nova Offshore for making this possible. More to come! Vamos!”
