Quadrise and Auramarine Team up Decarbonisation

Auramarine Ltd. and Quadrise Plc have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the decarbonisation of the maritime industry. The partnership will combine the strengths of both companies in developing innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce emissions in the marine sector, aligning with the industry’s sustainability targets.

Strategic Collaboration to Drive Decarbonisation

Auramarine, a leader in fuel supply systems, and Quadrise, a supplier of clean energy solutions, will jointly leverage their expertise in emulsion fuels, biofuels, and fuel supply systems. This collaboration is designed to provide comprehensive solutions that enable marine customers to meet stringent decarbonisation and sustainability objectives.

Quadrise will contribute its innovative MSAR® (Multiphase Superfine Atomized Residue) and bioMSAR™ fuels to the partnership. MSAR® is a cleaner, cost-effective alternative to traditional heavy fuel oil (HFO), commonly used in the marine and power generation sectors. This emulsion technology blends residual oils, water, and additives to produce a synthetic fuel oil that is more efficient and environmentally friendly. The renewable bioMSAR™ fuel further enhances sustainability by incorporating sustainable components, such as water-based glycerin and other biofuels.

Auramarine’s Role in Fuel Supply Systems and Conversions

Auramarine, with its extensive experience in fuel supply systems and retrofits, will play a key role in the collaboration by providing the expertise to design and install fuel supply systems. This includes Quadrise’s blend-on-board technology, which allows marine vessels to use Quadrise’s fuels. The company’s proficiency in modular fuel supply systems and retrofitting solutions ensures that the transition to more sustainable fuels is efficient and cost-effective. Notably, Auramarine’s solutions do not require dry-docking, making the implementation process easier and more accessible for ship owners.

The partnership will also help expand the market for Quadrise’s fuel technology by promoting it across a wider range of vessel types, supporting the adoption of cleaner fuels on a global scale.

Joint Efforts to Promote New Sales Opportunities

In addition to technology development, the collaboration aims to combine the resources and networks of both companies to drive new sales opportunities. By working together, Auramarine and Quadrise will offer a compelling value proposition to the shipping industry, helping companies comply with new environmental regulations and achieve their sustainability goals.

John Bergman, CEO of Auramarine, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to announce this collaboration with Quadrise, who are at the forefront of improving efficiency and lowering emissions with their proven emulsion technology. To meet the maritime industry’s decarbonisation targets, we must accelerate the uptake of future fuels, and new, viable innovations are key. By combining our expertise, we are confident this partnership will bring significant value to our customers and drive further innovation in the industry.”

Jason Miles, CEO of Quadrise, also highlighted the importance of the collaboration, saying, “This agreement with Auramarine is an important step in our strategy to partner with industry leaders to decarbonise shipping. Auramarine’s extensive experience in marine fuel systems will play a crucial role in accelerating the global implementation of MSAR® and bioMSAR™ fuel conversions.”

This collaboration between Auramarine and Quadrise marks a significant step toward a more sustainable future for the maritime industry, providing the tools and technology necessary for shipowners and operators to reduce emissions and achieve their decarbonisation targets.
