This role is integral to the company’s ongoing expansion efforts in the global oil derivatives and petroleum products markets.
Bunker and Oil Trading Manager Job Profile
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing trading activities, risk assessment, and business development in the oil and bunker sectors. Key responsibilities include:
- Commodity Market Understanding: Strong grasp of commodity markets and trading principles, focusing on oil derivatives and petroleum products.
- Risk Management & Hedging: Execute derivatives trades for risk management, pricing, and hedging activities, ensuring optimal position leverage.
- Market Analysis: Provide technical and fundamental market information to the trading team, offering insights and recommendations for hedging and leveraging positions.
- Market Monitoring: Track and analyze relevant market data, such as Platts and ICIS, to monitor bunker and oil trading activities, seizing opportunities to drive business growth.
- Networking & Business Development: Participate in industry fairs, expand networks, and identify new business opportunities to drive the company’s global reach.
- International Expansion: Play a key role in the company’s strategy to expand its operations across new global territories, including initiating the opening of new offices worldwide.
- Supplier & Business Network Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with existing suppliers while developing new, sustainable partnerships for long-term business success.
- Team Leadership: Manage the trading team, setting KPIs, fostering a collaborative team environment, and ensuring high performance.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in derivatives trading with a focus on oil companies and/or trading firms.
- Track Record: Proven success in managing price exposure and developing effective trade strategies.
- Travel Flexibility: Open to frequent international travel for business and networking purposes.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
