Bunker Holding A/S, a global leader in the bunkering industry, is preparing for significant growth with a major restructuring and realignment of its executive management. The company has announced that as of December 1, 2024, Anders Grønborg will join the Executive Management team as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead the commercial business entity, Bunker Holding Sales. Anders Grønborg brings with him extensive experience in the maritime energy sector, having previously served as Bunker Holding’s Global Head of Sales in 2020 and as CEO of KPI OceanConnect in 2022.

In his new role, Grønborg will work alongside a team of capable and forward-thinking individuals with the aim of strengthening Bunker Holding’s customer engagement strategy. His leadership will focus on building a more customer-centric Bunker Holding A/S Group, ensuring the company remains adaptable and successful in the ever-changing global energy landscape.

“I am excited to share that, starting December 1, I will join Bunker Holding A/S’s Executive Management as Chief Commercial Officer,” Anders Grønborg said. “Together with a team of talented individuals, I look forward to working towards building a stronger, more customer-focused organization. I am confident that our realignment will bring us closer to our customers and help us achieve unprecedented success for both Bunker Holding A/S and KPI OceanConnect.”

As part of this strategic shift, Bunker Holding also announced that Dorthe Bendtsen, the current Chief Operating Officer (COO) of KPI OceanConnect, will take over as interim CEO of the company. Bendtsen has been a vital part of KPI OceanConnect’s development and success over the past 16 years, and Anders Grønborg expressed full confidence in her ability to lead the company during this transitional phase.

“Heading up KPI OceanConnect has been a privilege,” Anders Grønborg continued. “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our business partners and employees for an exciting and inspiring two years. I am confident that Dorthe will continue to lead KPI OceanConnect with excellence, and I look forward to what’s ahead for both the company and myself in this new role with Bunker Holding.”

The restructuring of Bunker Holding comes at a time when the company is focusing on better positioning itself for the future and addressing the growing complexities in the global bunkering market. With the aim of enhancing operational efficiency and customer relations, Bunker Holding will implement a new Executive Management structure. This includes dividing commercial responsibilities into two distinct entities: Bunker Holding Sales and Bunker Holding Operations. This restructuring is designed to foster specialization in key areas such as sales, sourcing, risk management, and physical supply.

The division of these responsibilities is expected to ensure that Bunker Holding can remain agile, customer-focused, and highly responsive to shifts in market dynamics. By strengthening its operational focus and streamlining its approach to customer engagement, the company is set to enhance its position as a full-service provider in the maritime energy sector.

“The refreshed structure will allow us to strengthen our position as a full-service provider across the value chain,” said Anders Grønborg. “By placing greater emphasis on customer relations and optimizing operations, we are better equipped to adapt to evolving market demands and drive growth for the Group.”

With these strategic changes, Bunker Holding is well-positioned to continue leading the industry and drive innovation in the maritime energy sector. The company’s renewed focus on customer engagement, operational efficiency, and growth signals a promising future for both Bunker Holding and KPI OceanConnect.

A Clear Vision for the Future

Bunker Holding’s restructuring is a strategic move to align its operations with the changing market landscape. By prioritizing customer specialization, operational efficiency, and leadership expansion, the Group reaffirms its commitment to remaining a leader in the global bunkering industry.
