Amogy and LOTTE Fine Chemical (LFC) have signed a MoU to advance green ammonia-to-hydrogen and ammonia-to-power solutions across South Korea. The partnership combines LFC’s extensive ammonia import, storage, and marine bunkering infrastructure with Amogy’s proprietary ammonia-cracking and power-generation technologies. Together, the companies will focus on expanding hydrogen refueling infrastructure, distributed community-scale power generation, and marine ammonia bunkering applications.
New York and Seoul | September 10, 2026 – Amogy and LOTTE Fine Chemical Co., Ltd. (LFC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the development and deployment of ammonia-to-hydrogen and ammonia-to-power solutions in South Korea. The collaboration will bring together Amogy’s ammonia cracking and power-generation technology with LFC’s extensive ammonia import, storage and distribution infrastructure. The companies will focus on applications spanning hydrogen refueling, distributed power generation and marine transportation.
LFC operates one of Asia’s largest ammonia import, storage and distribution networks and has established itself as a major participant in South Korea’s emerging clean ammonia supply chain. The company has also achieved what it describes as the world’s first commercial import of green ammonia, as well as the first domestic bunkering operation using green ammonia.
Amogy, meanwhile, has developed proprietary technology designed to convert ammonia into hydrogen, enabling applications that require high-purity hydrogen as well as ammonia-to-power generation.
Three Areas of Collaboration
Under the MOU, the companies will evaluate potential projects across three key areas.
- Hydrogen refueling infrastructure: LFC would supply green ammonia through its overseas procurement network and domestic infrastructure, while Amogy’s ammonia cracking technology would convert the ammonia into high-purity hydrogen at or near hydrogen refueling stations.
- Distributed power generation: For commercial and community-scale power applications, LFC would provide ammonia supply, storage and logistics. Amogy would contribute its ammonia-to-power generation modules, including configurations based on fuel cells and internal combustion engines.
- Marine applications: The companies will also explore ammonia bunkering solutions for vessels equipped with Amogy’s ammonia-to-power technology. The collaboration could leverage LFC’s ammonia terminal at Ulsan Port and its existing ship-bunkering capabilities.
Supporting South Korea’s Clean Energy Transition
The partnership comes as South Korea continues to develop infrastructure and technologies aimed at expanding the use of clean ammonia and hydrogen across its energy and transportation sectors.

This collaboration with Amogy allows us to extend that infrastructure into new downstream applications, supporting Korea’s transition to a clean ammonia and hydrogen economy.”
Projects to Be Evaluated
Following the signing, Amogy and LOTTE Fine Chemical will continue evaluating opportunities for cooperation in hydrogen refueling, distributed power generation and marine ammonia bunkering. The companies said specific project scopes, schedules and implementation plans will be determined as the collaboration progresses.
The agreement highlights the growing role of green ammonia as both an energy carrier and a potential fuel for power generation and maritime applications, while bringing together upstream ammonia supply infrastructure and downstream conversion technology to support wider commercial deployment.
